Oral Surgery Assistant (Short-Term / PRN)
Chatham Oral Surgery
Target Timeframe: July 2026 – January 2027
Locations: Savannah, Pooler and Rincon

Chatham Oral Surgery is seeking a skilled and dependable Oral Surgery Assistant for a short-term assignment or PRN basis to support our team during the period of July 2026 through January 2027 .

We are looking for someone who is confident in a fast-paced surgical environment, committed to excellent patient care, and able to step in with flexibility and professionalism.

Position Type

Short-term assignment: 4–6 months
Or PRN / as-needed coverage
Expected need: July 2026 – January 2027

Key Responsibilities

Assist the doctor chairside during oral surgery procedures
Prepare and break down treatment rooms
Support patient flow before, during, and after surgery
Review health history and help ensure patients are prepared for treatment
Take and record vital signs as needed
Provide clear post-op instructions and patient support
Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols
Stock operatories and assist with clinical organization
Support the team with professionalism, urgency, and flexibility

Ideal Candidate

Experience in oral surgery strongly preferred
Dental assisting experience required
Comfortable in a surgical setting
Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate doctor needs
Calm, reassuring presence with patients
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Reliable and adaptable for short-term or PRN coverage

Preferred Qualifications

Oral surgery assisting experience
Experience with WinOMS EMR system preferred
X-ray certification, if required
CPR certification
Sedation or surgical assisting experience is a plus

What We Need

We are specifically looking for someone who can help bridge coverage needs for a temporary season of growth and support, whether through a 4–6 month commitment or PRN availability .
